Description of program

Cooking is often thought of as a hobby, but now it's a smart career decision. If you love preparing meals for family and friends, this might be the program for you. America's love of eating out means that Culinary Arts is one of the fastest growing professions.

What will I do in this program?

You'll learn to cook, bake, serve, slice, and much more in a commercial kitchen. Here are some of the skills that you'll take into your career:

  • Food service operations
  • Sanitation and safety
  • Knife handling
  • Soups, sauces, and stocks
  • Meat and poultry preparation
  • Seafood preparation
  • Vegetable and starch preparation
  • Deli operations
  • Espresso bar operations
  • Baking breads
  • Baking cakes, cookies, and desserts
