Description of program
If you have an interest in law enforcement, this course is for you. You will work directly with law enforcement officers to find out how the criminal justice system works. Tour the Public Safety Building, Police Academy and Spokane Airport Security Facility.
What will I do in this program?
Learn first hand about:
- Traffic, criminal law, criminal procedures and traffic laws
- Crime scene search, sketch and photography
- Radio communications
- Fingerprinting and more!
- Arrest techniques
Some skills you will learn:
- Overview of criminal justice system
- Law enforcement ethics and practices
- Criminal acts and impacts on society
- Interpersonal communications and problem solving skills
- Conflict resolution
- Record keeping and technical writing
- Handling evidence
- Investigative procedures
- Accident investigation and accident reports
- Traffic enforcement
