There's more to it than
just baking cookies. Experience the world of culinary arts through
on-the-job training in the school's coffee bar, bake shop, restaurant or
catering service. Learn the basics of food prep and handling, and see what
it's like to work in a professional commercial kitchen. Get a taste of all
facets of the industry - from serving to cooking to management. Specialty
areas are designed to prepare students for initial employment in a wide
range of occupations related to the hospitality industry. Competency-based
instruction allows students to master the latest methods and techniques in
food preparation and customer service. Students have an opportunity to work
in “Alice's”, the Skills Center’s restaurant, which is open to the public.
