AUTOMOTIVE TECHNOLOGY

You're on a road trip and the car starts smoking.  If you've taken Automotive Technology, you'll know what to do.  With nationally recognized NATEF training, you'll learn how suspension, engine control, electrical/electronics and brake systems are supposed to work so you can diagnose and repair problems.  Opportunity to be part of the Automotive YES (Youth Educational Systems) program that pairs students with professional mentors and arranges a summer job with a dealership or independent auto shop.

Automotive Maintenance - Explore the final frontier; let the world beneath the hood be a mystery no more.  The Automotive Maintenance program will teach you what you need to know to keep a car purring, and give you the skills to find an entry-level job in the auto industry.  Learn what to look for when inspecting the battery, brake, master cylinder, radiator, steering system, shock absorbers, brake lines and fuses.  Practice rotating and breaking down tires, fixing flats and balancing wheels.  Get more in-depth study of how to lubricate moving parts, maintain the transmission and differential, check fluid levels in the engine and change oil.
